It's been so long since an update! It has been a pretty hectic last few months. From deciding to leave Wildbrain and join 6 Point Harness, to getting my own place (finally) while still doing freelance has been insane. Tonight I decided to post some of the freelance work I did while I was still at Wildbrain.
For a 3 minute short called Click Stars online at allgirlarcade.com. Hopefully some of my original stuff will make it up soon!

Been a while

It has been quite some time that I have posted something on here. I had started getting into the groove of drawing and what would you know I go and get hired at W!ldbrain. Now that I have been here for a little over a mth I am hoping I get back into drawing. Starting off simple for now but I have a lot of stuff in development that will hopefully be ready soon. :)

Pre-Teen Development

I decided to develop a few characters and environment for this character. These three are the only ones I have on my comp right now but I have an emo kid designed as well. These are all just rough concepts but I am very excited about this little project I have decided to take on. :)

Changed a few things and added other details. There are a few things here and there I want to fix but I am afraid if I touch it any more I will ruin it.

Needs some more work but I think I am finally getting enough confidence to start pushing my characters and designs a little more. This could have been pushed more but meh ;)

Cleaned her up and tweaked a few things here and there. Only thing left to do is color and practice drawings hands and feet more. :)

Studies

Needing to update my portfolio asap with some action/comic type poses I decided to study a few poses I found online to try to get a feel and idea as to what I am going to be doing.

My boyfriend of 5+ years recently passed the CSET exam that allows him to become a Science teacher in the state of California even though he is also certified to teach History. Having said this is the most difficult test he had ever taken I can't be prouder knowing he passed it on his first attempt and will soon have his own classroom. As long as he isn't teaching English I think future generations have a chance ;).

Little Update

Just a little something for the time being. I returned from Mexico about two-three weeks ago and have yet to really get back into the drawing mode. So for now just a little avatar of myself as well as having created a new layout for www.debarroyo.com .

Dr. Sketchy

So Dr Sketchy had an event this past Saturday at Gallery Nucleus that I could not attend due to a previous engagement. However, I have always wanted to go to a Dr Sketchy night but have yet to do so. I decided to see when the next event is and I saw they posted a picture of one of the models of Gallery Nucleus' event and I just had to do a quick sketch of it. Surprisingly I liked how it came out for being so rough and cant wait to work on this even more. But what it means is, I must now go to Dr Sketchy's!
